about

Probably the first track I wrote that I thought would be a good fit to play with Adam as part of our new, weird recording project. I played all the instruments on this one, but Adam was there at the recording, which was probably the first session. I've always loved Rice Pilaf, and thought one day I might open up a pilaf-themed restaurant called Rice Pilaf Haus. But alas, like all of us here in this simulation, I live inside a man named Klaus. Free associative psychedelia was the goal and design for this song and there's some good imagery, but it's heavily Lord of the Rings-influenced as would show on other songs on this album. --Ross

lyrics

Rabbit skipping, jumping into the sun
Cope with phasing in the river run
Pool is green, lagoon electric blue
All the forests that I once knew

Charging chemicals, extraction white
Feel the heat flow in the icy night
Trees are stomping and the air is thick
Man is hiking with supportive stick

Life inside a man named Klaus
I'm going down to the Pilaf Haus

Passing ketchup down the leeward isle
Feel the ocean wrap in wayward style
Laps like dogs in Wonderland so cruel
Heed the tidings of the tide of yule

Holding out for the election man
You know I try to do the worst I can
Pearls in harvest like a nest of bird
All I want to know is what you heard

Life inside a man named Klaus
I'm heading down to the Pilaf Haus
