about

This was my big experimental multipart opus, in the vein of Pink Floyd, with the simple “classical” piano intro and slide guitar melody. But that transitions to the psychedelic breakdown with backwards audio clips, which was so easy (and fun) to do on cassette tape. We tried saying words backwards, so that when we recorded them backwards they would sound “normal”. It almost worked! I added a guitar harmony, which got mostly cut off thanks to the 4 track limitations. Then it transitions to the sappy EMajor7 section, which mostly holds up. And Ross referencing Pink Floyd again with “stone, stone, stone…” I guess it’s my take on the Beatles’ “Goodnight”, like any album should end with a song about going to sleep.–Adam

lyrics

Mama hold me til I fall asleep
Mama hold me like you used to
Hold me til slumber takes my hand
